KCHEART

KS-LV-ARES supports the Kansas City Hospital Emergency Amateur Radio Team (KCHEART) by conducting training, maintenance, and supplying operators to Saint John Hospital in Leavenworth and recently Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. We have Amateur Radio Communications Centers (ARCC) in both facilities and work closely with John Knutson, Regional Emergency Preparedness Coordinator. KCHEART conducts test nets the first Monday evening of each month with some variations of which Monday if the test net falls close to a holiday. Every participant in KCHEART is requested to complete the Station Operator Training Package in order to be proficient in any of the 43 area KCHEART facilities as needed. KCHEART has attempted to standardize the suite of equipment and channel memory so that operators can quickly assimilate into any facility based on the training provided herein.
