CCTA Exercise Postponed

MECC 2021 SET on October 2, 2021 takes center stage.

The Mid-America Regional Council decided last week to postpone the simulated Complex Coordinated Terrorist Attack exercise due to the increased pressure on hospitals with the recent surge in COVID cases. As hospitals respond to real-world challenges, the exercise has been notionally rescheduled for spring 2022 with exact dates TBD.

Prime Healthcare, parent company for Providence Medical Center (PMC) and Saint John Hospital (SJH), will be using the delay to construct a Command Center at PMC. Amateur Radio position(s) will be part of the new Command Center plan.

The next opportunity to exercise capabilities and hone skills will be the Metropolitan (Kansas City) Emergency Communications Council (MECC) 2021 Simulated Emergency Test (SET) on Saturday, October 2, 2012 which occurs during a period set aside by ARRL for SETs nationally.

More information will be posted in the SET Prep area of this web site as it becomes available. Leavenworth County ARES members are requested to check the SET Prep links regularly.
