Weather Spotter Training

Weather Spotter Training for Leavenworth and Atchison Counties is scheduled for Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at 7 PM at the Lansing Middle School, 220 Lion Lane, Lansing. This training is put on by the National Weather Service, Pleasant Hill, MO (EAX). This is Part 1 of 2 for Leavenworth County volunteers. Sometimes, Chuck Magaha, Director of Emergency Management, will host a Part 2 of 2 which is training more specific to the county and reviews communication procedures. Part 2 of 2 has not been mentioned yet for 2025.

If you cannot make the NWS session, you may attend another session elsewhere for credit. See the NWS Kansas City Skywarn Storm Spotter Training page for times and places. Both in-person and virtual classes are available but registration for any sessions besides our live session on February 25th may require registration.
